Being intersex on the fediverse can be challenging. There aren't that many of us, and many of us are immediately turned off by the fact that the #intersex hashtag is plagued with nonstop bigenitalia fetish porn.

Intersex is a category of human beings with a wide variety of phenotypes and genotypes. The hyper-sexualization of intersex people is harmful and upsetting for many of us. It creates an environment that very much makes actually intersex people unwelcome in the fediverse.

Servers muted on intersex.social

In order to prevent the #intersex tag from being completely filled with bigenitalia porn, on intersex.social we are currently muting the following servers.

This means that people from these servers can make follow requests to accounts on intersex.social (and vice versa). But their posts won't appear in feeds like the #intersex feed.
